One-Day Workshop

The One-Day Workshop is a full day of guided, hands-on learning built around a single AskAFriend consumer guide — a significant step up from the free one-hour program, closer in depth and structure to a paid seminar than a single session. It’s sold as a stand-alone product, including through Teachers Pay Teachers, to adult learners and community groups who want a complete, structured day on one topic without reading the companion guide first or enrolling in a multi-week course.

Example: The Complete Consumer Fraud workshop (“Recognize, Verify, Respond”) runs six modules across roughly 6–8 hours of instructional time, including breaks and lunch. Every title’s workshop follows the same day structure, built around its own six modules.

Format

Six timed modules across a full instructional day (roughly 6–8 hours with breaks and lunch built in). Each module states its own learning objectives and includes a hands-on exercise, so participants practice a skill before moving on rather than only hearing about it. The day opens with a pre-workshop knowledge check and closes with a post-workshop assessment, a personal action plan, and a certificate of completion.

What’s Included

The workshop ships as four documents:

  • Workshop Presentation (roughly 90–110 slides) — the full-day teaching deck, organized one section per module.
  • Participant Workbook (roughly 40–50 pages) — the pre-workshop knowledge check, guided notes and a reflection or practice exercise for every module, a 30-day personal action plan, and a “Where to Go Deeper” resource page.
  • Facilitator / Instructor Guide (roughly 15–25 pages) — module-by-module learning objectives, timing, and the hands-on exercise for each module (for example, Consumer Fraud’s Pressure Map, Pattern Hunt, and Household Hardening Plan exercises), plus the assessment answer key.
  • Printables & Certificate Packet (roughly 15–20 pages) — standalone, print-ready pages so a facilitator isn’t handing out the whole workbook: the one-day agenda, scenario cards for the hands-on module, one or two named quick-reference cards built around the guide’s own decision framework, a take-home checklist, the pre- and post-workshop assessments with answer key, the “Where to Go Deeper” page, and the certificate of completion.

The Book Is Optional

No book is required to complete the workshop — everything a participant needs is in the workbook and printables packet. The companion guide is offered only as an optional deeper resource, and each workshop also points participants to the relevant outside official resources for that topic, presented the same way at the end of every workshop:
