Well, since I have too many tomaotes to count, I have decided to plant some earlier then normal here in Colorado. The green house still has the big potted plants, but I took a few of the smaller potted tomates and planted them outside this weekend.
It is time to take a look at the tomatoes, which are still inteh green house, by the way, one more time before they venture out of doors.
Here is the wall of tomatotes. The tomatoes are still in their gallon pots, and all kinds of other stuff is in forground, including some spinach we will be eating soon.
We even have some tomatoes getting ready to ripen. (Sorry for the out of focus picture )
Hopefully the next tomato post will show them in dirt outside!
I went out to the greenhouse on Easter and snapped a couple pictures of my tomatoes, as they are getting much bigger (and a bit out of control).
Here are some I have transplanted (again) into 3 gallon pots. I am hoping they will live in these until they hit the ground mid May to early June (I live in Colorado):
Here are all the ones still in the 6 inch pots that need to be transplanted. I call it my greenhouse wall of tomatoes:
Well, it has been another 3 weeks or so, and my March is booked, so I clipped these pictures of my tomatoes to show how far along they are coming.
I have a few left in peat pots:
I may have started them a tad early, as I have moved most of them to 6 inch pots, and placed them under grow lights. Here are a couple more pictures of how they looked this morning:
and another one:
I am sure they will keep growing, and I will keep posting new pictures.
Tomato update: It has been almost two weeks since I planted the tomatoes, and almost all of them are up, except there is no sign of Opalka, and light showing for Tobolsk, Boxcar Willie and Blondkopfchen.
Some early poppers included the Lahman Pink, Moskovich, Ispolin and Tommy Toe.
Here they are at 2 weeks – some are getting ready for a peat pot!
Last night Cat and I planted a couple inside boxes for some near term veggies:
These are in the grow room, under lights on 18 hours a day. This is the same room my new seedling boxes are in.
I just planted more seeds for the 2010 Colorado garden season:
Will try to post again when the seeds are up and moving to their pots.
Well, I have lots of capacity to grow this year, so have ordered and already received my heirloom certified organic seeds from Gary Ibsen’s Tomato Fest.
This year, I am planting the following varieties:
The also gave me a free sample of Giant Syrian , (image) so am anxious to try that out as well.
I just added water to my seed bed, and hope to get the seeds down tonight. Will try to keep you all posted!
